COVID-19 update: 5 deaths, 177 cases, 144 recoveries reported for district

A total of 177 more cases of COVID-19 and 144 recoveries were announced Saturday for the Green River District, including 102 cases and 78 recoveries in Daviess County. Coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Daviess (1) and Henderson (4) counties.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (102), Hancock (5), Henderson (28), McLean (11), Ohio (24), Union (1), Webster (6)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (78), Hancock (3), Henderson (27), McLean (5), Ohio (23), Union (2), Webster (6)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 10,294
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 7,683 (75%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 47
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 569 (6%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 195

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 4,389 cases, 3,187 recovered, 14 current hospitalizations, 204 ever hospitalized, 71 deaths
  • Hancock County – 343 cases, 265 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 19 ever hospitalized, 12 deaths
  • Henderson County – 2,403 cases, 1,835 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 150 ever hospitalized, 47 deaths
  • McLean County – 460 cases, 350 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 36 ever hospitalized, 21 deaths
  • Ohio County – 1,299 cases, 905 recovered, 12 current hospitalizations, 83 ever hospitalized, 24 deaths
  • Union County – 782 cases, 660 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 40 ever hospitalized, 10 deaths
  • Webster County – 618 cases, 481 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 37 ever hospitalized, 10 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 45%
  • Female: 55%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 35 cases
  • 1-11 — 308 cases
  • 12-19 — 847 cases
  • 20-29 — 1,687 cases
  • 30-39 — 1,536 cases
  • 40-49 — 1,569 cases
  • 50-59 — 1,500 cases
  • 60-69 — 1,310 cases
  • 70-79 — 840 cases
  • 80+ — 662 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
