COVID-19 update: 5 deaths, 228 cases, 124 recoveries reported for district

A total of 228 more cases of COVID-19 and 124 recoveries were announced Tuesday for the Green River District, including 131 cases and 70 recoveries in Daviess County. Coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Daviess (2) and Ohio (3) counties.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (131), Hancock (9), Henderson (34), McLean (5), Ohio (21), Union (18), Webster (10)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (70), Hancock (1), Henderson (11), McLean (5), Ohio (32), Webster (5)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 10,595
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 7,907 (75%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 47
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 571 (5%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 200

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 4,550 cases, 3,305 recovered, 14 current hospitalizations, 204 ever hospitalized, 73 deaths
  • Hancock County – 352 cases, 267 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 19 ever hospitalized, 12 deaths
  • Henderson County – 2,459 cases, 1,868 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 150 ever hospitalized, 47 deaths
  • McLean County – 470 cases, 359 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 37 ever hospitalized, 21 deaths
  • Ohio County – 1,324 cases, 954 recovered, 11 current hospitalizations, 83 ever hospitalized, 27 deaths
  • Union County – 810 cases, 664 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 41 ever hospitalized, 10 deaths
  • Webster County – 630 cases, 490 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 37 ever hospitalized, 10 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 45%
  • Female: 55%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 39 cases
  • 1-11 — 327 cases
  • 12-19 — 869 cases
  • 20-29 — 1,730 cases
  • 30-39 — 1,589 cases
  • 40-49 — 1,614 cases
  • 50-59 — 1,544 cases
  • 60-69 — 1,345 cases
  • 70-79 — 865 cases
  • 80+ — 673 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
