The Owensboro Police Department is investigating an incident during which a man was allegedly stabbed in the head multiple times Tuesday evening. An Owensboro man has been arrested for the incident.
Xavier R. Boone, 34, was charges with second-degree assault.
According to reports, at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday OPD responded to a medical call in their own parking lot at 222 E. 9th St. Based upon statements provided, there was an altercation between two men inside a moving vehicle where the victim was stabbed multiple times in the head with a knife.
According to OPD, the driver of the vehicle transported both men to the police department. Upon arrival, the suspect fled on foot.
The victim, a 39-year-old male, was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers located the suspect, Boone, in the area and he was arrested.
