COVID-19 update: 89 cases, 50 recoveries reported for district

A total of 89 more cases of COVID-19 and 50 recoveries were announced Monday for the Green River District, including 40 cases and 21 recoveries in Daviess County. The numbers reflect a two-day period.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (40), Hancock (7), Henderson (17), McLean (1), Ohio (10), Union (10), Webster (4)
  • New recoveries by county: Davies (21), Hancock (3), Henderson (13), McLean (2), Ohio (4), Union (5), Webster (2)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 16,921
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 12,866 (76%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 58
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 740 (4%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 284

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 7,673 cases, 5,857 recovered, 27 current hospitalizations, 283 ever hospitalized, 130 deaths
  • Hancock County – 661 cases, 479 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 21 ever hospitalized, 14 deaths
  • Henderson County – 3,745 cases, 2,805 recovered, 14 current hospitalizations, 186 ever hospitalized, 53 deaths
  • McLean County – 712 cases, 547 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 46 ever hospitalized, 25 deaths
  • Ohio County – 2,034 cases, 1,548 recovered, 7 current hospitalizations, 101 ever hospitalized, 37 deaths
  • Union County – 1,111 cases, 896 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 52 ever hospitalized, 10 deaths
  • Webster County – 985 cases, 734 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 51 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 44
  • Male: 45.6%
  • Female: 54.4%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 70 cases
  • 1-11 — 570 cases
  • 12-19 — 1,424 cases
  • 20-29 — 2,783 cases
  • 30-39 — 2,661 cases
  • 40-49 — 2,593 cases
  • 50-59 — 2,426 cases
  • 60-69 — 2,082 cases
  • 70-79 — 1,353 cases
  • 80+ — 959 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
