The Owensboro Police Department is investigating an alleged armed robbery that took place late Tuesday night.
According to reports, OPD responded to the 900 block of Frederica Street at approximately 11:35 p.m. after an officer was flagged down by an individual who advised they had just been robbed.
The suspect, described as a white male, got into the female victim’s vehicle while the victim was stopped at the red light. The suspect presented a knife and demanded money, at which time the female fled on foot from the vehicle before seeing the officer and reporting the robbery.
Officers located the vehicle abandoned in the area but the suspect was not located.
