The Sanitation Department completed its third and final pass of systematic vacuum loose-leaf collection through Owensboro, collecting 1.9 million pounds of leaves.
Vacuum leaf collection will continue by request through Feb. 12. Customers can request collection by calling CityAction at 270-687-4444 or the Sanitation Department at 270-687-8760 by Feb. 11. Requests for vacuum leaf collection received after Feb. 11 will not be honored, as the leaf collection equipment will be stored for the season.
Bagged leaves can continue to be placed curbside for collection on normal trash collection day.
Beginning Feb. 15, 2021, limb collection and chipping operations will resume.
