COVID-19 update: 40 cases, 47 recoveries reported for district

A total of 40 more cases of COVID-19 and 47 recoveries were announced Monday for the Green River District, including 19 cases and 15 recoveries in Daviess County. The numbers reflect a two-day period.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (19), Henderson (12), Ohio (6), Union (2), Webster (1)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (15), Hancock (5), Henderson (11), McLean (2), Ohio (4), Union (3), Webster (7)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 19,433
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 16,256 (84%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 30
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 808 (4%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 319

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 9,131 cases, 7,641 recovered, 15 current hospitalizations, 321 ever hospitalized, 146 deaths
  • Hancock County – 753 cases, 623 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 22 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Henderson County – 4,150 cases, 3,386 recovered, 7 current hospitalizations, 196 ever hospitalized, 57 deaths
  • McLean County – 803 cases, 694 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 47 ever hospitalized, 26 deaths
  • Ohio County – 2,280 cases, 1,937 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 111 ever hospitalized, 46 deaths
  • Union County – 1,193 cases, 1,052 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 57 ever hospitalized, 12 deaths
  • Webster County – 1,123 cases, 923 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 54 ever hospitalized, 17 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 44
  • Male: 46.5%
  • Female: 53.5%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 76 cases
  • 1-11 — 695 cases
  • 12-19 — 1,706 cases
  • 20-29 — 3,212 cases
  • 30-39 — 3,081 cases
  • 40-49 — 3,019 cases
  • 50-59 — 2,794 cases
  • 60-69 — 2,351 cases
  • 70-79 — 1,470 cases
  • 80+ — 1,029 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
