COVID-19 update: 1 death, 24 cases, 16 recoveries reported for district

A total of 24 more cases of COVID-19 and 16 recoveries were announced Friday for the Green River District, including 16 cases and 9 recoveries in Daviess County. One coronavirus-related death was reported in Ohio County.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (16), Henderson (2), Ohio (4), Webster (2)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (9), Hancock (3), Henderson (1), Ohio (3)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 20,302
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 18,253 (90%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 9
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 855 (4%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 340

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 9,664 cases, 8,745 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 345 ever hospitalized, 160 deaths
  • Hancock County – 778 cases, 702 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 23 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Henderson County – 4,262 cases, 3,758 recovered, 2 current hospitalization, 200 ever hospitalized, 60 deaths
  • McLean County – 825 cases, 759 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 48 ever hospitalized, 26 deaths
  • Ohio County – 2,402 cases, 2,151 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 121 ever hospitalized, 49 deaths
  • Union County – 1,224 cases, 1,124 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 64 ever hospitalized, 13 deaths
  • Webster County – 1,147 cases, 1,014 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 54 ever hospitalized, 17 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 44
  • Male: 46.6%
  • Female: 53.4%

  • <1 — 81 cases
  • 1-11 — 740 cases
  • 12-19 — 1,802 cases
  • 20-29 — 3,335 cases
  • 30-39 — 3,212 cases
  • 40-49 — 3,175 cases
  • 50-59 — 2,928 cases
  • 60-69 — 2,462 cases
  • 70-79 — 1,514 cases
  • 80+ — 1,053 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
