The Owensboro Police Department is currently investigating a dead body found on the shoreline of the Ohio River. Officials said the body was discovered in the 1400 block of West 1st Street behind Fern Terra of Owensboro.
OPD Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess said police received a call regarding a body in the river at 7:21 p.m. Officers responded and discovered the body at approximately 7:45 p.m.
Boggess said it was too early at this time to identify the individual.
The Owensboro Fire Department is also on the scene.
