With a record membership for 2021, Impact 100 will be giving away four grants totaling $256,500 that will be awarded to local nonprofits later this year. Impact 100 Next Generation will award an additional $11,000 grant.
It marks the largest grant cycle in the chapter’s history, and it’s also the first time they’re giving away four grants.
There will be two $100,000 grants, along with two residual $28,250 grants. Since their start 16 years ago, the women’s philanthropic organization has awarded grants totalling $3,617,500 to local nonprofits.
“I am so glad that local women stayed true to the vision and mission of Impact 100,” said Linda Wahl, Impact 100 President. “The generosity of this community is simply amazing.”
Impact NextGen is the philanthropy organization for teenage girls that is associated with Impact 100 Owensboro. In five years, they’ve given $48,500 to the community.
“The concept of youth involved in philanthropy is, at least in Owensboro, no longer just a concept,” said Joy Carroll, Impact100 NextGen Chair. “These young ladies, through the giving of their time, their talents, and their treasure, have made it a reality, and our entire community is benefitting from it greatly.”
The online application for grants opens Monday, and the finalists will be revealed this fall.
“We look forward to partnering with the nonprofits in the community and encourage you to dream big and think outside the box,” said Beth Clements Grant Chair. “(Grant Co-Chair Meghan Rykwalder) and I are looking forward to a wonderful 2021 and we can’t wait to see the impact we will make on the greater Owensboro community this year.”
