Colonels hand Catholic a rare loss

Owensboro Catholic and Henderson County went back-and-forth for seven innings Wednesday as just one frame was scoreless in the game with the Colonels coming out on top in the 8-7 win.

Henderson led 3-1 after the first but Catholic score the next four and led 5-3 heading to the sixth. Both teams score in the next two innings as the game was tied 7-7 before the Colonels added a run in the top of the seventh for the victory.

Sam McFarland led the Aces in the loss at the plate as he went 5-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs. Luke Scales also had multiple hits as he went 2-4 with an RBI. Luke Evans added a single, RBI and a run in the loss.

Catholic plays tonight at home against Hancock County.
