One person was killed and another injured Monday afternoon on Browns Valley-Red Hill Road in Daviess County. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, a female was stabbed during the incident and a male later died at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital from injuries sustained during the altercation.

According to Deputy Chief Major Barry Smith, DCSO responded to a call regarding a “domestic situation” around 12:30 p.m.

Smith said a female had been stabbed with a screwdriver and fled to a neighbor’s house to call the police. Deputies were later advised that someone else in the residence had been injured.

The female was located at the neighbor’s home, and the male subject was found at the first residence with several injuries. Smith said DCSO was currently investigating those injuries to determine how they occurred.

The male was transported to OHRH via ambulance, where he later died from his injuries. Smith said the female was also transported to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Smith said the deceased victim was renting a room in the female’s residence, where she lived with her husband.
