DCSO searching for man after Sunday night stabbing

Daviess County Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for a man who is accused of stabbing someone at a home in Whitesville late Sunday night.

DCSO deputies were dispatched to the 9500 block of McCamish Road shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday in reference to an assault and stabbing.

According to DCSO, William Perry Dougherty, 46, forcibly entered the home and began to fight with a male subject that was inside the residence. During the fight, Dougherty allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times. The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for his injuries.

Dougherty fled the scene prior to deputies arrival. Law enforcement is actively looking for him and is requesting tips from the public on his whereabouts. Contact the Daviess County Sheriffs Office or Crimestoppers at 270-687-8484.
