A single-vehicle fatal collision early Saturday morning shut down the Glover Cary Bridge. The bridge sustained structural damage but has since reopened.
According to a release, Owensboro Police Department responded at approximately 3:48 a.m. the Glover Cary Bridge on a single-vehicle injury collision.
The driver of the vehicle died at the scene, and the bridge sustained structural damage. The Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, Owensboro Fire Department, and American Medical Response EMS assisted on scene.
Members of the Accident Reconstruction Unit along with the Daviess County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and are investigating the collision.
