Multiple advisories will be in effect this week for motorists in Daviess County, including on U.S. 60, the William H. Natcher Bridge, and on Southtown Boulevard.

Inspection for William H. Natcher Bridge set for Monday-Friday

An inspection on the William H. Natcher Bridge will take place Monday through Friday.

Single-lane restrictions on U.S. 231 will be utilized between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to facilitate the inspection.

Pavement repairs for U.S. 60 beginning Monday

Crews will be applying sealant onto the pavement of U.S. 60 in an effort to reduce the creation of potholes.

The section of U.S. 60 to receive the pavement improvements is between the intersection with Bon Harbor Hills/KY 331 (mile point 10.179) and the bridge over Horse Fork Creek (mile point 15.842).

Crews will be working at night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The work is scheduled for completion on May 26.

Anticipate slow-moving traffic on U.S. 60 Tuesday

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will begin beam placement for the Spottsville Bridge on Tuesday.

The contractor will reduce the bridge down to one lane with alternating traffic. Drivers should anticipate lengthy delays. The lane reduction will not begin until after 8 a.m. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes.

A flagging operation will be in place to facilitate beam movement to the new structure. Once they begin moving the beams, the process will continue until it’s complete.

RWRA still working on sewer repairs on Southtown Boulevard

The Regional Water Resource Agency has closed KY 2699/Goetz Drive at the intersection with Southtown Boulevard. The lane restriction is necessary to run a bypass sewer in an effort to address a failed sewer system. Currently, Goetz Drive is closed with local traffic only from Frederica Street to Southtown Boulevard.

This effort was expected to last 3-4 weeks but due to recent local flooding and a high water table in Daviess County, the work has been extended. Completion is unknown at this time.
