OPD: Owensboro man charged with assault and robbery in relation to May shooting

Update (June 16) — Juwan Cotton, 24 of Owensboro, was arrested and charged on June 15 with first-degree assault and first-degree robbery in relation to a shooting that sent one victim to the hospital on May 30.

MAY 30 — The Owensboro Police Department is investigating a reported shooting that sent one man to the hospital Sunday evening with a single gunshot wound that is considered a life-threatening injury. 

According to a release, at approximately 7:06 p.m. OPD responded to the 600 block of Orchard Street for a reported shooting. Officers located a 33-year-old male with a single gunshot wound who was transported to the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. 

Detectives are currently investigating. Anyone with any information about the incident is encouraged to call OPD at 270-687-8888 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.
