Apollo 11, Muhlenberg County 5

After three scoreless innings, Apollo and Muhlenberg County both woke up offensively but it was the E-gals that really got the bats going in their 12-5 win over the Lady Mustangs.

Apollo scored five in the fourth and six in the fifth to take the game.

Emmie Bullington got the win after she threw six innings and allowed four earned runs on nine hits.

Olivia Crawford (2-4, 2 R), K’Asia Palmer (2-4, R), Morgan Julian (4-4, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R), Abbie Gore (2-3, HR, 2 RBIs, R), Sydney Saalwaechter (2-3, 2 2B, RBI, R) and Mallory Velotta (1-3, HR, 3 RBI, R) all had big games with Gore and Velotta having home runs in the victory.

Apollo plays at home Thursday against Owensboro.

Daviess County 1, Hancock County 0

Daviess County grabbed the win over Hancock County Tuesday at DCHS but it wasn’t easy.

The Lady Panthers scored in the bottom of the fourth when Katie Mewes had an infield single to score Jessie Daniels to give DC its only run in the 1-0 win.

Greysee Whiteker got the win in the circle as she struck out five and allowed two hits in the win.

Abby Newman (2-4, 2B), Jessie Daniels (1-3, R), Whiteker (2-2, 2B) and Mewes (2-3, RBI) did all the damage for DC in the victory.

Daviess County plays Thursday at Evansville Mater Dei.

Butler County 11, Owensboro 1

The Owensboro Lady Devils couldn’t string back-to-back wins as they fell to Butler County 11-1 Tuesday at Shifley Park.

Ellington Embry, Sophie Moorman, Emmi Connor and Kaylyn Sowders had singles for the Lady Devils while Addison Hill had the lone RBI to score Moorman.

Owensboro plays at Apollo on Thursday.

Booneville (Ind.) 10, Owensboro Catholic 0 (5 innings)

The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces went on the road Tuesday but couldn’t keep up with Booneville (Ind.) as they fell 10-0 in five innings.

The game was scoreless until the third when Booneville added two in the frame and followed it up with four in each of the next two innings.

Hannah Carter and G Parson had the only hits for the Lady Aces as they left three on base in the loss.

Catholic plays Thursday at home against Henderson County.
