In absence of their annual luncheon, the Women’s Guild of Owensboro is hosting a flower arrangement fundraiser next week. In addition to donated floral arrangements, the guild will also be selling their sweet tea.

This is the second year in a row the guild has had to cancel the luncheon.

“The luncheon and the women’s guild were kind of known for lots of different things but one of the main things we’re known for is the beautiful flower arrangements usually displayed throughout the homes at the luncheon,” said guild member Katie Drab.

The fundraiser is scheduled for May 12-13 and will be held at First Presbyterian Church under the covered back pavilion.

Two sizes of flower arrangements including the vase will be available — a small for $15 and a large for $25.

Instructions to order flower arrangements will also be posted on the guild’s Facebook and Instagram.

Orders will be placed via email to [email protected]. Once orders are received, a confirmation email will be sent confirming receipt of the order. The guild will accept payment via Venmo ahead of time or cash upon pick-up.

Pick-up will be at First Presbyterian Church from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday or Thursday. Delivery will be made available only upon request.

A “Women’s Guild Tea Stand” set up as well. The guild will give a glass of tea to anyone who purchases a flower arrangement, and they’ll sell ½-gallon jugs for $5 each.

In addition to selling flower arrangements, Katie Lowing has very graciously offered to sell her artwork with proceeds going to the guild. The guild will post pictures on social media and will also have a table setup at the event with her artwork on display. The artwork will be priced at $75 each, while supplies last.

All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be gifted back to the community to a local nonprofit, though Drab said the recipient won’t be decided upon until later this year.
