Name released for man in fatal motorcycle accident Friday

Saturday, 9:03 p.m. — The operator of the motorcycle in a fatal accident Friday evening has been identified as 34-year-old Roger L. Best of Owensboro.

Friday, 6:11 p.m. — One person died after a fatal collision between a vehicle and motorcycle that occurred Friday evening on the 2200 block of Triplett Street, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for his injuries where he later died, according to OPD.

Triplett Street will be closed at 21st Street while members of the Accident Reconstruction Unit investigate the collision. Old Hartford Road at Pearl Street will also be closed.

Drivers should consider using J.R. Miller Boulevard as an alternate route to avoid the area.
