The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance on a fatal cold case from 2013.

The case — which occurred Feb. 21, 2013 — involves soybean meal being spilled on the Natcher Parkway (now I-165) causing multiple collisions, one of which resulted in the death of Lacy Brinton.

During the original investigation of the case and multiple follow-ups, DCSO was unable to identify the truck or driver who spilled the soybean meal.

While the office doesn’t believe the soybean mill was spilled intentionally, they do believe that someone has information that would help with the identification of the driver or vehicle.

They also would like for the Brinton family to receive closure for their loss.

Anyone with information can contact Lt. Jerry Spurrier at the Sheriff’s Office or remain anonymous through Crime Stoppers.
