Hayden Farms in Whitesville has announced the return of their Fall Farm Market on Sept. 26 — an event that will feature approximately 70 vendors this year. The husband-and-wife duo of Daniel and Danielle Hayden owners of the farm and started the market three years ago to showcase local businesses.

The market runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1195 New Cut Road in Whitesville.

Last year’s market featured 32 vendors. The entire event is hosted outdoors in open-air facilities. The market features live music, food trucks, hayrides, Zenia patches, and fun fall photo opportunities.

“This is our third annual event, and we’ve more than doubled in size from last year,” Daniel said. “We are offering more variety; we expect 2,500 to 3,500 people to come through the farm and see what all we have going on. There is a lot of talent in this community.”

With 70 vendors already registered, this year’s event will boast a wide array of products, crafts, jewelry, and foods. Attendees can also expect to catch live music from the local group King’s Highway as well as games for the kids.

Food trucks already enlisted include Slick Back BBQ, the DC Cattlemen, Ben’s Pretzels, and Squeeze-E’s Lemonade.

The Haydens initially created the event as a means to showcase local crafts, produce, and talent while also promoting their family farm.

“We want to showcase businesses in our community and the variety of talent we have while having a good time promoting them,” he said. “Our farm has been in operation since 1983. We started with tobacco and cattle, but we’ve diversified a lot since then.”

That diversity includes commercial poultry houses that have been in operation for nearly four years. The farm features an education room where visitors can gaze directly into the houses and experience the raising process firsthand.

“We can’t wait to see everyone out on the farm to kick off the fall season,” Daniel said. “There will be games, live music, and loads of family fun, all while supporting local businesses.”
