OPD: 16-year-old facing multiple charges for Tuesday night shooting that left 1 injured

A 16-year-old male was arrested Wednesday and is facing multiple charges in relation to a shooting that sent one man to the hospital with non-fatal injuries Tuesday night, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

According to OPD, detectives located the juvenile Wednesday and charged him for the shooting. He has been charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, first-degree wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident — failure to render aid, and third-degree criminal mischief.

According to a Tuesday night release, at approximately 9:14 p.m. OPD responded to the area of Gardenside Drive and W. 9th Street for a shooting and located an adult male with a single gunshot wound. The victim advised a group of subjects had stolen his vehicle and shot him. 

The victim was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
