Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church is hosting their annual Fall Cook today. Bulk sales of chicken, pork, and burgoo will begin at 3 p.m. at the Frederica Street campus, with all proceeds benefitting the church’s men’s group.

The team will smoke the meat on custom-made smokers and over an open pit and then pull it to be dipped. The meat will be served by the pound with burgoo available by the gallon.

Cooking crews at Lourdes have been conducting meat sales in the community for more than half a century. With membership on the rise, the club hopes to put the money raised towards a new building on campus to accommodate their growing needs.

The club also participates in a parish-wide giving tree campaign where they purchase bikes for children. One of their primary missions is to make sure that money doesn’t impede a child’s ability to have a bike.

With nearly 110 items already accounted for through pre-sales, the food will likely go quickly, so it’s best to arrive early.
