The Owensboro Community & Technical College Community Chorus will perform a holiday concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6. The chorus is under the direction of Dr. Connie Ford, Professor of Music, and accompanied by pianist Ann Jeannette Pierce.

The concert will be held at First Christian Church (700 JR Miller Boulevard).

The event features composers of the 19th, 20th, and 21st century programmed works, which cover a wide variety of styles, including Robert Cohen, Fred Gramann, Robert Young, Alfred Fedak, Andre Thomas, Harold Darke, Norman Dello Joio, Javier Busto, and Felix Mendelssohn.

The 35-voice chorus, comprised of community members, high school students, and college students, has presented fall and spring concerts continually since the spring of 1987. This, however, is the chorus’ first concert since the fall of 2019 due to COVID-19.

Scheduled performers for the holiday event include Robbin Baughn, Amy Beck, Tracey Bivens, Linda Burgess, Beverly Chelgren, Kirby Chelgren, Janet Corum, Jeanette Ebelhar, Janet Estes, Melinda Francis, Chris Freels, Gavin Gargus, Mary Goodman, Rachel Keeley, Sam Koon, Justin Kurz, Shelia Kyle-Reno, Carroll Laswell, Leah McDivitt, Bob Meacham, Vicki Meacham, Natalie Moss, Shannon Muffett, Tristen Muffett, Chelsea Rector, Mary Rummage, Christie Stumpf, Sr. Sharon Sullivan, Janet Tichenor, Mike Tichenor, Chris Tolliver, Tony Sparks, Wendy Wells, Jim Wilhoyte, and Virginia Zoglman.

In order to ensure a healthy environment, OCTC will require all attendees to wear masks and practice distanced seating. For more information, contact Connie Ford at [email protected].
