OPD: 2 juveniles shot Tuesday, injuries believed to be non-life-threatening; shootings not related

Two juveniles were shot Tuesday night in different locations, but both are believed to have non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Owensboro Police Department. OPD officials said the shootings are not related.

According to a release, OPD responded at approximately 6:53 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of Elm Street for a shooting. A juvenile male was located with a single gunshot wound and transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

Then approximately 9:30 pm, OPD responded to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital where another juvenile male victim was brought in with a single gunshot wound. Officers determined the shooting occurred in the 3100 block of Burlew Boulevard.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and anyone with additional information can call OPD at 270-687-8888, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.
