Daviess County Fiscal Court on Tuesday officially signed a contract to allow GRADD to distribute a $1 million grant for the purchase of a new facility for the OASIS Domestic Violence Shelter.

OASIS Executive Director Andrea Robinson previously said they had to be out of the current location by September 2022. She said they were seeking a non-congregate housing style where they would be able to provide individual units to their clients at the new facility. With the grant OASIS will be able to provide 38 beds.

Fiscal Court applied for the grant in November, and it was recently awarded by Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman. GRADD will administer the grant to OASIS.

In other business during Fiscal Court’s meeting, County Commissioners ruled to pass two extra contracts with GRADD regarding the administration of Owensboro Regional Recovery’s CDBG-CV and Generator Project Grant.

They also heard the first reading for an annual ordinance relating to the Daviess County Road, Bridge and Street System. A resolution to account for the subdivision street lighting District for Woodland Ridge, Unit 9 was also approved unanimously.

The following were appointed to a boards across the county:
