The Women’s Guild of Owensboro is looking forward to hosting their annual luncheon for the first time since 2019, bringing back the tradition that has spanned more than eight decades. The luncheon is scheduled for May 11-12.
Christy Hayden, chair of the luncheon, said she’s excited to finally be able to meet again.
“For me, it was always fun to be able to have a group of ladies around and enjoy lunch together,” Hayden said.
This year’s luncheon will be hosted by Kathryn and Bill Raymer at their home on Sycamore Street. Hayden said the Raymer home will be a great place to host, as the backyard overlooks the river providing a nice lunchtime view.
The lunch will include chicken salad and several guests. The Owensboro Symphony’s Jazz Trio will perform, Plein Air artists will be creating portraits, and there will be other activities as well.
The Guild will donate 100% of the profits from the event to the community. Hayden said that the recipients have not been named, but will be announced once the full donation amount is known.
While Hayden said invites are sent out, anyone is available to come to the luncheon regardless of whether or not they are a member.
