Local homeless shelters recently received a total of $20,000 in donations from Aid the Homeless, a charity founded by GO REALTORS. The funds were divided among the six shelters currently supported: Boulware Mission, Daniel Pitino, Friends of Sinners, Oasis, St. Benedict’s, and St. Joseph’s Peace Mission.

“Aid the Homeless is a charity founded by the Greater Owensboro Realtor Association to help support important community organizations that serve to shelter those in need,” according to Tyler Shookman, ATH President. “It is our goal to provide resources to address and someday end homelessness, while serving the homeless population with respect, integrity, and grace.

Each year, Aid the Homeless encourages area shelters to apply for funding. The accepted applicants are allocated a portion of the total funds raised. There are no restrictions for the donation, allowing shelters to use the monies for their specific needs.

Aid the Homeless has now raised more than $400,000 for local shelters. For more information or to donate, visit aidthehomeless.org.
