The Daviess County Public Library will be hosting a kickoff event from 3-6 p.m. June 1 to mark the official start of their Summer Reading Program, with this year’s theme being “Oceans of Possibilities.” The kickoff celebration will have crafts, games, and chances to win prizes.

Children and teens that attend the kickoff will receive a punch card after registering for the Summer Reading Program and can accumulate punches by participating in activities on the second floor at DCPL. They can then redeem their punch cards for a free book and additional prizes.

Adults can redeem their free prize of a water bottle and Bluetooth speaker (while supplies last) after reading for at least 30 minutes.

The Summer Reading Program runs from June 1 through July 31 and is open to all ages. Children, teens, and adults can register for the program and log their reading minutes and/or DCPL program attendance for entries into grand prize drawings.

Registration opens June 1 but can be done any time during the program’s duration. Registration can be done in person at DCPL, by calling 270-684-0211, by going online here, or by downloading the Beanstack Tracker App on a mobile device.
