An investigation is ongoing after a juvenile student was found with an airsoft handgun Monday morning, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to a release, at approximately 7:03 a.m. OPD responded to the 2300 block of Ottawa Drive for a reported juvenile in possession of a firearm waiting at a bus stop. Upon arrival, officers conducted a traffic stop on a Daviess County Public Schools’ bus in the area and located the juvenile matching the description given.
Officers detained the juvenile and located an airsoft handgun on the juvenile’s person, according to OPD.
Due to the student being enrolled at the DCPS, officials with the DCPS Police Department were contacted and are currently investigating.
