A gazebo at Fern Terra burned down Saturday evening but Owensboro Fire Department was able to quickly put out the fire before it spread to any other structures. No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
The fire started around 6:30 p.m. and was put out within roughly 20 minutes. A nearby structure had minor heat damage to the exterior.
The gazebo was still standing but had so much fire damage that OFD knocked it down making it a total loss. According to an OFD official on scene, the gazebo was built 35 years ago.
