The annual Bridge Day event, giving citizens the opportunity to walk the Owensboro Bridge downtown over the Ohio River, is returning on Saturday. The once-a-year opportunity to enjoy the views of the downtown riverfront from the bridge will coincide with the Owensboro HydroFair.

The Owensboro Bridge will be open to pedestrians from 7 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The public is welcome to walk, stroll, run, or bike across the bridge. The bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic from 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Owensboro HydroFair returns this weekend, when sixty hydroplane teams separated into seven classes will battle it out on the Ohio River beginning Friday and wrapping up Sunday.

HydroPlane testing runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, followed by qualifying races from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
