Jagoe Homes is adding another community to Owensboro. Named Pebble Wood, officials say it will offer a rural feel with city amenities. The community will be located off Old Hartford Road, just past Hillcrest Golf Course and Stoney Brook, the starting price is around $290,000.
Bill Jagoe, co-owner of the company, said they are currently installing streets and plan to open the neighborhood on the first of October. The community will fall within Owensboro city limits and feed Deer Park Elementary, College View Middle, and Daviess County High schools.
“We’re very excited about Pebble Wood, especially since the Bluegrass Commons and Deer Valley communities are nearly sold out,” Jagoe said. “Several sites are tree-lined, with farms bordering on multiple sides, and the area isn’t as susceptible to the traffic on Fairview Drive.”
Jagoe said the homes would resemble the larger homes in the Bluegrass Commons.
“We’re continuing to build on our momentum and offer better products for our clients,” he said. “Three years ago, what was considered an upgrade is now standard. We’re also always working on perfecting the homes’ energy efficiency.”
The homebuilders are also in the beginning phases of Heatherstone, a new community on U.S. 60 West near Audubon Elementary School. They hope to begin moving dirt there next week.
Heatherstone will have more than 300 homes, making it the third-biggest community Jagoe has built in the county.
Another initiative of the company is crafting its first net-zero-ready home. They’ve also settled into a product for a smart home, with an abundance of features homeowners can control on their cell phones. He said wireless features had changed the industry, and they are now wiring homes to be ready for anything the client desires.
