An investigation is ongoing after a man died from injuries consistent with either being struck by or falling from a moving vehicle on Monday, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to a release, at 4:45 p.m. Monday OPD responded to the 200 block of Sutton Lane in reference to a man lying in the roadway. Upon arrival of first responders, the victim was located partially in the roadway.
Injuries on the victim’s body and roadway evidence appeared consistent with the victim being struck by or falling from a moving vehicle, OPD officials said. The OPD Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
On Thursday, the Daviess County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Jacob Simpson, of Owensboro, and confirmed that Simpson died as a result of his injuries.
