Bumpy drives along Frederica Street are expected to get smoother in the coming months. Kentucky Rep. Suzanne Miles said Monday the road’s repaving bid has been claimed, and work will begin in the near future. The completion deadline is in November, according to Miles.
Miles said the repaving of Frederica is something she has wanted to accomplish for a while, so she worked with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to get it completed.
“There’s no one that’ll be happier when the Frederica Street project is done than me,” Miles said. “That is my regular route, so I’m very anxious for that project to be completed.”
Mile said the project is being completed by a local company.
Roadwork will start at mile marker 10.719 to mile point 11.216 — which is roughly from the underpass and south half a mile.
According to the KYTC Highway Plan, the project was set for the 2024 budget year with a $5.5 million cost. However, the project was expedited to this year due to Miles helping push its priority.
