The American Life Assurance Company of Columbus, commonly referred to by its acronym Aflac, has served the American people since 1955. Locally, Jennifer and Garett Keller have changed the face of Aflac, reimagining how insurance looks and feels.

With more than 28 years of combined experience and a passion for educating and protecting people, the Kellers have established and grown a local brand for communities across western Kentucky, southern Indiana, and Tennessee.

Jennifer Keller said they are true partners inside and outside their business and have taken significant risks to grow their organization.

“We continue to pour into our team and the communities we serve,” she said. “We are forever grateful for the opportunity we have each and every day and look forward to continuing to build a team that makes a difference.”

Keller cited a Harvard study indicating that more than 60% of all bankruptcies in the U.S. are from medical bills. She said 75% of those people had health insurance, but nothing like what Aflac offers – something to protect their ability to provide and overcome their loss of income.

She said most people associate insurance with a huge price tag, but Aflac costs as much as a cup of coffee.

“No one wants more insurance; believe me, we see it every day, but when people take the time to be educated by one of our team members, they find that our policies are very affordable,” Keller said. “It’s all about education and an open mind. Skip the drive-thru at Starbucks, pass on the energy drink once a week, and you can afford to protect your income.”

The local Aflac also provides business solutions support with the ultimate goal of positioning business owners to be their best. She’s confident businesses can attract and retain the best employees with one of their business policies.

“Employers are facing many uphill battles, and the Kellers are standing strong in that they do and how it helps businesses and their employees,” she said. “Employees are looking for freedom in choice and benefits that fit their particular needs, not the old-school, one size fits all.”

Aflac exists to protect and provide peace of mind, and the Kellers are proud of how they support businesses with education, culture, and development.

“Benefits are the secret sauce and the gateway to growth for businesses in today’s world,” Keller said. “We partner with the business and/or their broker to add a benefit that drives morale while keeping costs down.”

The two are also available by phone at 270-993-3492 (Jennifer) and 270-993-7738 (Garett). They’re looking to grow their team, and Keller advised anyone interested in taking a risk for something better or wanting to be a part of something bigger to give her a call.

The Kellers consider themselves blessed to be a part of the Owensboro Community and attribute much of their success to the many relationships they have formed along their journey.

“The business community here is full of empowering and selfless leaders who are happy to take time out of their busy schedules to mentor and guide you,” she said. “We are so grateful for our clients and this community. With our clients, we are nothing.”

The Chamber Member of the Week program is a membership benefit of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce. Founded in 1913, the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce has worked to provide valuable benefits and services to member businesses and individuals for over a century.
