KSP: Owensboro man charged with multiple felonies

Kentucky State Police troopers have arrested an Owensboro man for various felonies stemming from a pursuit downtown earlier this month. 

Henry L. Kellems, 39, was arrested and transported to the Daviess County Detention Center.

According to KSP Trooper Corey Smith, the incident occurred on September 5 on West 1st Street. King said a trooper attempted to stop Kellems for a traffic violation, but Kellems fled in the vehicle. The trooper reported that Kellems drove down an alley and through a wooden fence, also damaging the KSP cruiser. Kellems then fled on foot.

Kellems was charged by Kentucky State Police with the following offenses:

  1. Wanton endangerment, 1st Degree
  2. Leaving the Scene of an Accident
  3. Fleeing/Evading Police, 1st Degree (motor vehicle)
  4. Fleeing/Evading Police, 1st Degree (on foot)
  5. Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree
  6. Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License
  7. Reckless Driving
  8. Disregarding Stop Sign
  9. License Plate Not Illuminated

Additional charges are pending, according to King.
