The Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department is bringing back scavenger hunts over the next few weeks — and this year they’ve hidden hockey pucks for the community to find.
The Parks Department has teamed up with Owensboro Youth Hockey Association and WBKR for the event, which will take place on the mornings of Sept. 22, Sept. 29, and Oct. 4.
The Parks Department will announce on their Facebook and Instagram pages the general locations of where they hid three different color pucks. There will be black, gold, silver, and bronze pucks released each of the three mornings. Each participant can only turn in one black puck and one specialty puck.
Black pucks are numbered on one side and are linked to specific numbers and prizes. To collect your prize after finding it, return it to the Parks and Recreation Administrative Center (1530 McJohnson Avenue).
Silver and Bronze pucks must also be turned into the Parks Administrative Center. (The office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and is closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Gold pucks must be returned to the WBKR radio station (3301 Frederica Street), where your name will be entered into a drawing for a prize.
The winner of Specialty Pucks will be announced on the Parks Department’s social media page on Oct. 7.
