A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and sustained serious injuries Monday morning according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to a release, the incident occurred at 6:37 a.m. at the intersection of West 2nd Street and Carter Road. The pedestrian was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The operator of the motor vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
The OPD Accident Reconstruction Unit and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Unit (Drone) responded to investigate the collision. The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours but is open at this time.
