Update, 12:51 p.m. March 5 — OMU’s boil water advisory has been lifted.

Owensboro Municipal Utilities has issued a boil water advisory as a precaution for customers served by the pump station in the Hillcrest area.

The following information was shared by OMU:

Customers served by the pump station in the Hillcrest area may have noticed a decrease in water pressure due to a Kenergy power outage resulting from today’s windstorm.

Due to this loss in pressure, customers in the Burlew Boulevard to College View School, from Scotty Lane to Sutherland Road area are under a boil water advisory. This advisory has been issued as a precaution only due to a drop in pressure.

Customers are advised to bring drinking water to a rolling boil for three to five minutes before consumption.

Upon the restoration of power to the pumps serving this area, water will be tested. Please watch for more information about the lifting of this advisory.

As a reminder, this is a precautionary advisory only. If you have additional questions, please call Water Quality at 270-926-3200.
