DCSO: Pleasant Ridge man facing marijuana trafficking charges

Joel Harker, a 42-year-old Pleasant Ridge man, is facing drug trafficking charges after marijuana, guns, and cash were found out his residence, according to the Daviess County Sheriff's Office.

A 42-year-old Pleasant Ridge man is facing drug trafficking charges after marijuana, guns, and cash were found out his residence, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a release, on Tuesday DCSO detectives conducted a search warrant on the residence of Joel Anthony Harker, of the 3900 block of KY 764. The search warrant was involving an unrelated case when detectives located evidence of a marijuana trafficking operation.

DCSO officials said an additional search warrant was obtained to continue locating evidence of the trafficking operation. Detectives reportedly located and seized “a quantity of marijuana, Taurus 9mm pistol, Charles Daily 12 gauge shotgun, shotgun ammunition, money and drug paraphernalia.”

Harker is a convicted felon with a past trafficking conviction. The investigation is ongoing.

Harker is currently lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center. For this incident, he faces charges of:

  • Trafficking in Marijuana (8 oz to < 5 Ibs) 1s Offense (Enhanced due to firearm)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Buy/Possess) (Enhanced due to firearm)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
