Police responded to a threat made at the U.S. Bank Home Mortgage office located on Tamarack Road Wednesday afternoon. Despite rumors, there was never an active shooter, but officials declined to provide much detail on what specific threat was made due to the open investigation. Here’s what we know so far.
Update from OPD of 3:20pm:
- Owensboro Police Department responded U.S. Bank Home Mortgage to a threat against employees at 1:49 p.m.
- OPD Public Information Officer Dylan Evans reports there is no threat to general public.
- OPD cleared the building and reports no injuries.
- Investigation is ongoing and OPD was not able to confirm at the time any use of weapons on scene.
Here’s what we know as of 2:55pm:
- OPD on scene at a US Bank facility in the MidAmerica Airpark off Carter.
- No reports of shots fired.
- There are reports of some sort of verbal threat.
- Employees were asked to evacuate the building.
- OPD has requested additional police officers to come into work.
- OPD still working to clear the building.
- East side of building has been cleared.
- West side of building has been cleared.
