While there are no local races this year, voters will have a chance to pick their nominees for major statewide offices in the Primary Election on May 16 — most notably in the governor’s race. Here’s what to know about the local voting process, including where and when to vote and what you’ll see on your ballot.

Sample ballot
Kentucky is a closed primary state, meaning registered Republicans can only see and vote for Republican candidates, and vice versa for Democrats. The sample ballot includes candidates for both parties.
