The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident where a woman said a person shot out the window of her SUV as she was driving on the Natcher Parkway on Saturday evening.
According to Sheriff Brady Youngman, a woman reported that she was exiting the bypass to go southbound onto the Natcher when she thought she saw a man who was holding a rifle and standing on the edge of an adjacent property. She said that her back SUV then shattered.
“We are investigating this as though the window was shot out and are asking the public to come forward if they have any information that helps our investigation,” Youngman said.
The woman, who Owensboro Times is choosing not to identify at this time due to the open investigation, wrote in a social media post that she was driving home from work when the incident happened.
“I would like to thank the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office for their quick response tonight,” the woman wrote in a social media post Saturday. “I am so grateful to the officers who responded who stayed with me until help could get there. … I am so thankful my kids or grandkids were not in the car when this happened.”
As the investigation continues, Youngman is asking members of the public to contact DCSO with any information that could assist in identifying the subject responsible.
