Hops on the Ohio, an event celebrating Kentucky-crafted beers, will return to the Owensboro riverfront on August 12, this time moving locations to the Owensboro Convention Center.

From 1-5 p.m., guests can peruse the Convention Center’s exhibit hall and waterfront pier and taste beer from a large selection of local and hard-to-find national brands. Guests can also enjoy local musicians and talent and partake in the many other forms of entertainment.

“Guests get four hours of checking out different Kentucky and regional breweries,” said one of the organizers, Cody Anderson. “We just want to celebrate Kentucky’s beer culture.”

The breweries will offer various ciders and seltzers, while Green River Distillery and a regional winery will also be present for those not aching for beer. Admission to the event is $45 and comes with 30 5-ounce drink tickets. Entry for designated drivers is $10.

Anderson said moving to the Convention Center offers them more room to grow the event.

“We’ve just moved right down the river, so the name still fits,” Anderson said. “We knew we wanted to stay on the river near the growing craft beer scene downtown.”
