Elizabeth Moutardier has been chosen to serve as the Owensboro Rotary Club President for the next year, and she hopes to bring fresh ideas while building on the work the group does in the community.

Moutardier said when she first moved to Owensboro 2 years ago, she didn’t know anyone locally. That quickly changed after she joined the Chamber of Commerce, which in turn led her to becoming a Rotarian.

“Rotary is an organization known for its upstanding work within communities. … The Rotary core values are what I have always built my life on, and the opportunity to serve this great community while demonstrating those with this platform is a true honor,” she said of being named President. “When approached with the opportunity, I knew it was something I had to do. The chance to bring a fresh set of eyes to the organization is something that I believe will help propel our club and continue the great works that Owensboro Rotary has been so faithful to contribute to our town for many years.”

Moutardier is a Leitchfield native with 9 years of insurance industry experience and 14 years of sales experience. Her love for the insurance industry led her to partner with Best Insured, which opened their Owensboro office in June of 2022 — with Moutardier running that office.

She has been heavily involved in community organizations and as a volunteer over the years, both in Leitchfield and now in Owensboro.

Moutardier currently sits on the board for the Western Kentucky Chapter of American Red Cross and the Cliff Hagan Boys and Girls Club, and she is a Chamber Ambassador, Friday After 5 sponsor, and committee member for Rally Point Events.

She said the privilege of being the Owensboro Rotary President is one of her most proud accomplishments, and she looks forward to continuing to root herself in the Owensboro-Daviess County community.

“Personally, I look forward to deepening my connections and working relationships within the community. I love to fundraise and give back. Children and community impact is the core of who I am and what I stand for,” Moutardier said. “I am a connector by nature. I love nothing more than meeting people, connecting them with individuals and solutions to make their lives better, and I see Rotary as a great way to do that.”

She added, “I get to help bring events that not only raise funds for scholarships but bring joy to those involved. I get to coordinate speakers who my fellow Rotarians can learn and gain value from. I get to lead a membership drive and welcome others into a club that has become so important to me. All my life and work experience has led me to where I am, and I have no doubt that in 2024 when I pass the gavel on, God will have done a great work within the club for our community, and I am thankful to be this year’s leader of that impact.”

Outgoing Rotary President Mark Calitri said, “Elizabeth is the perfect example of the strong young professionals we have in this community. Our community becomes much stronger when young professionals get civically engaged and actively get involved.”
