Plans appear to be in the works for a new roller coaster at Holiday World. Officials released a statement Tuesday, but didn’t yet confirm the rumors.

“We’re really impressed with the internet sleuths, but we’re not ready to spill the gravy boat just yet. Follow us on social media for updates and clues starting soon,” said Leah Koch-Blumhardt, 4th-generation owner and director of communications.

According to multiple Indiana news outlets, Holiday World submitted construction paperwork with the State of Indiana in April for a ride called “Gravy Boat.”

At least one YouTube channel and one Facebook page have made posts in recent days about the potential roller coaster, lending some credence to the rumors.

Both posts pointed to information that can be found publicly on ImportGenius, which tracks global import/export records. According to that site, on June 13 Holiday World received a shipment containing parts of a roller coaster from Netherlands-based Vekoma Rides Manufacturing.

The Marks & Numbers section of the product describes it as a “Family Boomerang Roller Coaster.” According to the Vekoma website, their family boomerang has a “forward /backward run.” That means rather than a looped track, the coaster travels from one end of the track to the other going forward, then returns to the station by traveling backward on the track.

Last week, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari announced they were closing the Raging Rapids family raft ride after 33 years.
