DCSO: 3 charged after meth found in home with 4 children

Three people have been charged with endangering the welfare of four minors along with drug trafficking after meth and other paraphernalia were found at their residence near a school on Booth Avenue, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a release, at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday deputies and detectives with DCSO and the Kentucky State Police conducted a joint search warrant in the 1400 block of Booth Avenue, which is across from Owensboro Middle School.

“The search warrant was a result of an investigation and undercover buys at the residence brought about from community concerns relayed directly to the DCSO Special Investigations Unit. The tips advised there was trafficking of illegal drugs occurring from the residence by multiple people at the residence,” according to the release. 

The residents of the house were Theresa Spencer, Faith Spencer, and Rickie Greenwell. Also present in the residence were children ages 4, 7, 10 and 13 years old, according to DCSO. 

“Execution of the search warrant resulted in multiple baggies of marijuana, scales, pipes, methamphetamine, baggies for packaging and a large amount of US currency,” officials said. 

All three adults were arrested and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center. 

According to DCSO, their charges were as follows: 

Theresa Marie Spencer, 48

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree — 1st offense (> or = 2 grams of methamphetamine)
  • Trafficking in marijuana (> 5lbs) — 2nd or greater offense
  • Drug paraphernalia — buy/possess
  • Endangering the welfare of a minor (4 counts)

Faith Claire Nichole Spencer, 26

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school
  • Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree — 1st offense (> or = 2 grams of methamphetamine)
  • Drug paraphernalia — buy/possess
  • Endangering the welfare of a minor (4 counts)

Rickie Wayne Greenwell, 30

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school
  • Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree — 1st offense (> or = 2 grams of methamphetamine)
  • Drug paraphernalia — buy/possess
  • Endangering the welfare of a minor (4 counts)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree — 1st offense (> or = 2 grams of methamphetamine)
