The Green River Area Development District is accepting nominations for its annual Excellence Awards, given to individuals for their efforts and service in the local community.
Since 2002, GRADD has honored three individuals each year with Regional Excellence Awards:
- The Charles Reid Regional Citizenship Award recognizes a citizen from the public or private sector who has played a major role in regional development efforts.
- The Texal Brooks Regional Leadership Award recognizes a current or former GRADD Board or committee member who has demonstrated outstanding regional leadership.
- The Wendell Ford Legislative Leadership Award recognizes a local, state or national elected official who has dedicated his/her life to working with legislative issues and services for our region’s citizens.
According to GRADD Executive Director Joanna Shake, “these awards acknowledge exceptional commitment to our region. GRADD is blessed to have extraordinary leaders in our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to recognize outstanding individuals who have made an impact in the district.”
GRADD will also be giving out their annual Community of the Year Award, which honors a city or county that “has initiated significant efforts to improve the quality of life for their residents.”
Nominations must be submitted by August 11. Application packets can be downloaded here. GRADD will honor award winners on September 13.
