Habitat for Humanity Owensboro-Daviess County will host their annual Summer Warehouse Sale this Saturday. All proceeds will go to Habitat’s construction materials fund for houses being built this fall.

This summer, the local chapter has increased its construction efforts from five home builds annually to 10 in an attempt to meet the need for affordable housing in the community.

Along with sponsorships, grants, and monetary donations from churches and individuals, the organization also regularly receives donations of supplies and home goods. These are sold at quarterly warehouse sales with the proceeds going to purchase needed building materials.

“Our sales are a great way for people who need home goods to find a great deal,” said Jeremy Stephens, Executive Director for the local Habitat. “Whether you’re moving into your first apartment for college, flipping a house, or you’re a landlord looking for affordable materials for your rental units, we’ve got what you need. And of course, the bonus is, every penny our community spends in this sale goes to help affordable housing here in Owensboro-Daviess County.”

The warehouse sale runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2930 West 4th St., and will have furniture, kitchen appliances, washer and dryers, windows, doors, home décor, and more.

Anyone interested in volunteering or learning more about the organization can visit habitatowensboro.org or their headquarters at 2930 West 4th Street.
